Seatoun Bungalow
This is a house that yearned to breathe but not to stretch its seams. To keep outdoor spaces and meet a budget it sought to find space within without extending out.
Through careful planning the existing 1920’s bungalow has been restored and transformed into a nurturing and spacious home for a young family.
The property now accommodates extended family and lively children as they weave through the years ahead.
A New Facade
A new façade has been woven into the original frame of the house. Internally this allows for an extra living space that can be used by children, a world away from the main family space which is nestled at the other end of the home.
This new realm spills into a west facing courtyard which enjoys both shelter from the wind and afternoon sunlight. Across from this a new detached studio and guest room has been built, a sanctuary of creativity and rest.
Living Spaces
The kitchen, dining and living room floors have been lowered level with the surrounding outdoor spaces. These rooms were previously raised up above ground level and poorly connected to the courtyard.
